Each of us from time to time go from our places of comfort and habit and set out for a trip - a trip which will bring us adventure; new horizons, new experiences and new impressions. Sometimes we take these trips only in dreams or in fantasy.
For an artist, these "travellings" more often happen as flights of fantasy where dreams and reality combine to form new impressions. The artist's "reality" is an intermixing of these many impressions which will become apparent in the character of their work.
The speculative traveling's often make absolute changes in both the artist and in their work.
In the Russian language, the words "strange", "traveling" and "country" al have the same root. "Strange" it is to leave the places where you have habit and familiarity.
As an artist sets out on a "traveling", whether in his mid or in reality, he takes with him the "luggage" of his past and experience, and each traveling adventure is an intermingling of the past with the new impressions and experience of the trip.
In this exhibition, two internationally celebrated artists of entirely different genres; each bringing their own luggage, have embarked on an adventure together, they have created a "new country", a heretofore unvisited realm, a new and different distinct art form.
This exhibition is called "Traveling" and presents etchings and collage combining the styles of Natalie Zaravnaya and Marina Marza into unique works of art.
